New stories appear as we move, sometimes planned, sometimes unexpected.
Just a short 15 minute cab ride from the cruise port brings you to one of the most relaxing beach days we’ve had in St. Kitts. Carambola Beach Club sits on a beautiful stretch of Frigate Bay, and from the moment you arrive, it feels intentional and calm, not chaotic or touristy.
One of the first things we noticed was the absence of beach front vendors. There were no constant interruptions and no pressure, just space to relax and enjoy the setting. The beach itself is wide, clean, and pristine, with plenty of room to walk far down the shoreline. Everywhere you look there are expansive mountain backdrops that make the entire area feel open and scenic.
The day pass is very affordable and includes access to chairs and umbrella rentals, making it an easy, low stress option for cruisers who want a comfortable beach setup without resort level pricing.
What really sets Carambola apart is the food. This is not a beach shack. It is a modern restaurant and bar with a polished feel and a sushi chef front and center. Watching the sushi being prepared while sitting just steps from the ocean somehow makes it taste even better. Everything from the views to the food was excellent and thoughtfully done.
One thing to note for families is that the water was a bit rough the day we visited and it drops off fairly quickly. That is something to be aware of if you are traveling with younger kids or less confident swimmers.
Overall, Carambola Beach Club delivered exactly what we were hoping for. A relaxed, affordable beach day with excellent food, great service, and a beautiful setting just minutes from port. It is absolutely a place we would return to on a future visit.
An extra note, throw your cab driver a couple bucks to make a stop at the Timothy Hill Overlook for a beautiful photo OP on the way to or from the beach club!
